About the Center

 

The primary role of the advisory committee will be to provide counsel to the Director of NREC on the vision for the Center and on strategies needed to achieve that vision.

The Advisory Board Committee Members provide counsel on a number of topics including:

  • Long term vision and objectives of NREC
  • Strategic acquisition of multi-user equipment
  • Services to be offered / Role of professional support staff
  • Recommendations for benchmarking of NREC performance and services
  • Other relevant issues for long-term sustainability of state-of-the-art facilities.

The academic advisory committee will consist of faculty representatives from those university departments having an active base of "users" of the facilities. Initially the Committee will consist of representatives from the departments of: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering and a representative from the College of Medicine, the Moffitt Cancer Research Institute, and the College of Public Health. There will be one meeting per year.

The industrial advisory board members are a cross—section representative of the users and are individuals with stature, experience and independence that can help the NREC evolve though critical advice and guidance of activities, vision and future directions.
